Tryouts are currently paused while we work on developing team synergy and deducing what weapon(s) would complement our playstyle.

Requirements
#

Apart from being 18+ (21+ ideally) and free weeknights at 8 pm eastern (sometimes 7 to warm up), we aren’t looking for anything out of the ordinary. Be able to VC and don’t be an asshole/bigot.

We’re looking for someone around a division 4-5 skill range. Strict LUTI divisions aren’t required, just where we’d gauge our skill level at the moment. X power and results can also be a good indicator of skill.

A nice bonus is if you’re able to or willing to consider streaming your perspective for scrims and tournaments. Branding is an important componant to the team, and we want people to get to know everyone on the roster as individuals as well as a collective team!

Weapon Pool
#

We are still discussing what weapons would work best as a 5th person, as the flexibility to slot in for any of us is essential. Some weapons/pairings we’ve considered are:

  • Dread Wringer + Hornz Dread Wringer
  • Flingza Roller + Big Swig Roller (all kits)
    • We ban Splattercolor Screen for accessibility, so no Foil kit
  • Mini Splating (all kits) + Heavy Splating

In essense - a paint positive weapon that can reasonably pair with our existing weapon pool. Renzo and Tessaract have some flexibility that may accommodate more options.

Why Join Us
#

The biggest factors separating us from other teams around our skill level are structure and branding. We have a team manager in Glack who helps organize practice/tournaments, allowing you to focus on gameplay, coordination, and communication. And Shark is our coach - bringing a unique perspective based on hyperdive and experience with multiple roles. We ourselves aren’t a hyperdive team, though many parts of the playstyle are widely applicable. Branding just means having a team website, active Bluesky account, cohesive graphics, and overall name recognition.

Tryout Process
#

  1. Submit an application

Fill out some basic information for us to better track who applies.
  2. Vibe Check

We'll play something casual like Anarchy Open or a Challenge, with the goal to see how we communicate/mesh. No stakes for gameplay - we want to create an environment to chat and get to know you better.
  3. Scrims or SendouQ

This is where we'll start looking at gameplay + comms, either via scrims or SendouQ sets. Play the weapons you'd want to try out with.
  4. Tournaments

Finally we'll play some tournaments together, with the goal of seeing how vibes + gameplay stand up under pressure. Since we'd be spending a lot of time together as teammates, we want to make sure everyone is having a good time for multiple hours.
